Introducing Our New Dean
Ana González is the new Dean of the South County Education Centers and Online Learning at Hartnell College. Previously, she served as the Director of the Soledad Education Center and played a key role in establishing the Distance Education Hub at the King City Education Center. Ana also contributed significantly to expanding the Rising Scholars Program, which supports currently and formerly incarcerated justice-impacted students. Additionally, she has led the Adult Education program at Hartnell College, developing strategies to help nontraditional students, including English language learners, succeed across five campuses.
Ana has served families in the Salinas Valley for over 25 years. Before joining Hartnell College, she worked at First 5 Monterey County, CSU Monterey Bay, and Monterey County Unified School District. Ana is a first-generation college graduate from a farm-working family. Her educational journey was made possible through mentors, including Manuel Bersamin, Hartnell TRiO Director, who was her high school Migrant Counselor.
Beyond her roles at Hartnell College, Ana actively participates in community-led committees and boards, including the Ventana Wildlife Society and the Monterey County Parenting Connection.
